A research walk through the industrial site exploring how people perceive urban environments through sensation, attention, and behaviour.

During the walk, participants examined the environment through the lenses of neuroarchitecture and environmental psychology, focusing on wayfinding, perceived safety, sensory load, lighting, sound, biophilia, and the emotional experience of space. The format combined: theory and practice, observation of participants' own responses, real-time spatial analysis, work with checklists and sensory mapping.

During the walk, we discussed: Prospect–Refuge Theory, Cognitive Mapping, Attention Restoration Theory, the influence of light, colour, and materials, the causes of cognitive overload, perceived safety and environmental legibility.

As part of the audit, data were collected through: environmental checklists, assessments of spatial and environmental parameters, participants' emotional responses, open-ended feedback. The study explored how wayfinding, acoustics, biophilia, scale, and spatial transitions influence perceived safety, cognitive load, and the overall quality of the user experience.

The analysis identified: areas requiring improvement, sensory triggers, the strengths of the environment, opportunities for future design interventions. Particular attention was given to: Cognitive Mapping, Prospect–Refuge Theory, Attention Restoration Theory, sensory balance and environmental legibility. The project resulted in a set of evidence-based recommendations for improving wayfinding, acoustics, biophilic qualities, and overall spatial comfort.

A card-based exploration game designed to help people experience urban environments through sensation, attention, and movement.

The project was developed in collaboration with urbanist Alena Sudakova, founder of the educational project POLE, and combines approaches from urbanism, neuroarchitecture, and sensory exploration of space.

Neuro Walk invites participants to experience the city from a new perspective—through sound, light, textures, smells, patterns, emotions, and embodied perception. The cards include a variety of activities that encourage participants to: observe, listen, explore routes, interact with the environment, notice their own responses to space. The game is suitable for: teenagers and adults, urban walks, educational programmes, architectural and museum projects. The project aims to foster environmental awareness, spatial perception, and emotional connection with urban environments.

The game is planned for distribution through partner educational, children's, and architectural projects, as well as independent bookstores.

An interactive sound installation created as the outcome of a Sound Workshop, developed in collaboration with students from several universities and the landscape architecture company as part of the Open City festival.

Throughout the workshop, we explored and documented the city soundscapes, recording both the sounds of the city and our personal sensory impressions of them. The installation invites visitors to become urban DJs by creating their own soundscapes, mixing together a variety of city sounds—from sparrows on the square and the rhythmic sweeping of a street cleaner near the theatre, to pedestrian crossing signals and the traffic noise of one of the busy road's intersections.

For the installation, I developed the software for the interactive sound console and integrated the audio recordings collected by me and the other workshop participants

A team of professionals working with a child approached us — not to create a beautiful room visualization, but with a different goal: to understand whether an existing interior design project would actually support the child's daily life once implemented.

Rather than evaluating the room as an interior, we analyzed it as a developmental environment.

We asked questions such as:

- Can the child study independently in this space?
- Is there enough storage for educational materials? (The child has a substantial amount of learning resources.)
- Is there room for physical movement?
- Can therapy or educational sessions be comfortably held in the room?
- Does the environment reduce sensory load—or unintentionally increase it?
- Will the room continue to meet the child's needs as they grow?

The final report included:

- a neuroprofile of the room;
- an analysis of the environment's strengths and weaknesses;
- design principles tailored specifically to this family;
- alternative layout options;
- visualizations of possible improvements.

The research paper on inclusive design of public toilets is now submitted to one of international magazines.
